In a society like Singapore’s, where most people own camera phones and many abuse the convenience of it (especially thanks to a website called “Stomp“), it is no wonder that iPhoneographers often get nasty stares whenever they whip their cameras out. A few days ago, I decided to try and take advantage of the size and convenience of the iPhone as a camera to capture candid, natural moments. While I did end up with a lot of weird and distorted photos, the experience was pretty fun and interesting.

This is how I held my phone. If you do not know yet, the volume up button works as a camera shutter release in iOS 5 (apparently works with earphone volume up button as well, but I have not tried it yet). I had my middle finger on that button and my index finger to balance the phone. You can…
